This morning, fellow Bishopsgate Councillor, Shravan Joshi and I visited the Combat2Coffee kiosk at Liverpool Street Station to chat with the team about the important work they do.
Combat2Coffee was formed by Nigel Seaman after being diagnosed with PTSD that was linked to military his service. Nigel decided to work with another veteran who roasts coffee beans to create a Combat2Coffee Recovery Blend.
Combat2Coffee was formed as a support outlet for Armed Forces veterans who may be struggling with life outside of service. They exist to offer training and development for veterans who may be in custody, under a rehabilitation order or are looking for a little extra support. They work with former members of the Armed Forces and their families to train them in a new skill and assist those who need help to find work placements or outreach support where possible.
I was generously given some of the beans to take away and shared them with colleagues at the Guildhall later that afternoon, passing on the important work Combat2Coffee are doing to support military veterans transition back into civilian life successfully.
