Bishopsgate Ward Club Elect New President

Congratulations to Helena Cooke who was elected President of the Bishopsgate Ward Club for the ensuing year at the Club’s Annual General Meeting held at St. Botolph Without Church on Friday 17th May, followed by a lunch enjoyed by Club members in the Church Hall.

Founded in 1790, the Bishopsgate Ward Club is one of the City’s oldest and today is one of the most active of the Ward Clubs which promote community service, good fellowship and interest in the traditions and institutions of the City.

Members enjoy a varied programme of social activities, including receptions, luncheons and insider tours, and the Club has close links with St Botolph’s as the Ward Church. Many of the members are also members of our closest Livery Companies on Bishopsgate, including the Coopers and Leathersellers.

Helena Cooke is a member of the Worshipful Company of Coopers, and has been closely involved in the arrangements for the financial assistance that Company is giving for the support of our homeless community. By profession, Helen is a Chief Financial Officer.
