The City of London Corporation’s has just released it’s first ever five-year People Strategy – a critical tool to help us create an exceptional work environment in a truly world-class organisation.
The ambition is to create an environment where our people feel safe, seen and listened to; an organisation where everyone contributes their skills, knowledge, and experience to deliver our exciting and ambitious Corporate Plan and where everyone is valued, recognised, and rewarded for their efforts.
Our 2024 to 2029 People Strategy has been created through direct engagement with our communities of employees and members and will be a live document that will continue to be iterated across the five years.
The Corporation recognise that the combination of getting the basics right in relation to systems, processes, and procedures while prioritising engagement, wellbeing and belonging yields remarkable results and organisational growth. However, in a world of perpetual change, we know this is no easy task. Our people work incredibly hard, and we also know that changes will not cease in today’s world. We believe the best way to understand how to get their best results is to fore front what matters to our people. This is why we have used their feedback to develop the five themes that have created this framework for our People Strategy:

The City Corporation will also be looking to it’s people to help develop the future values and behaviours, by drawing together what helps them to contribute their best efforts and to thrive at work.
