This weekend, the Guildhall Yard hosted 21 individual teams competing for victory in the Worshipful Company of Coopers’ third annual cask rolling race.
After a gruelling contest, which required participants to push heavy barrels up and down the Guildhall Yard in teams, the Rt Hon The Lord Mayor of London announced that the Young Coopers were victorious, reclaiming the trophy from the Merchant Taylors’ Company who won in 2023.
This is the sort of community event that the City of London is famous for. Bringing people together for some good old fashioned fun, whilst raising money for the Worshipful Company of Coopers’ charities. Long may they continue.
Well done to the Young Freemen for acting as stewards on the day and to the teams at St. John Ambulance and the Guildhall for making the event such a success.
