Today, the City of London Corporation has launched a public consultation for its ‘Transforming Leadenhall Street’ project, which aims to provide an enhanced environment on one of the City’s most prominent streets.
In short, the project is proposing widened pavements and a narrowed carriageway alongside public realm, greening and accessibility improvements throughout Leadenhall Street. Also, to celebrate the rich history and cultural significance of the area, references to this will be incorporated into the designs of the planters and seating areas.
Further information on these proposals can be found at the consultation portal where you’re able to respond to the consultation. The new project webpage will keep you updated on the project’s progress.
In addition to the online portal, the City Corporation will be holding three public drop-in sessions where people can discuss the proposals with the officers involved and provide consultation feedback. The details of these are:
- Thursday 16 January, 11am-1pm – Room 10, Guildhall North Wing
- Tuesday 28 January, 11am-1pm – Room 10, Guildhall North Wing
- Monday 3 February, 4-6pm – St Andrew Undershaft, St Mary Axe, London EC3A 8BN
The consultation will run to Sunday 9 February, in parallel to the Aldgate – Blackfriars Cycleway public consultation.
